    Alex
Hello Client. How may I help you?

    Client
Hi Alex, where do I put in my Shareasale merchant id?

    Alex
Good question…let me check on that.

    Client
It’s requiring one. Does that need to be on every single product?

    Alex
    still checking…
Hey Client…transferring you over as you may have further question, but the guys have information for you.

Alex transferred the chat to Support.

    Client
    Ok.

    Support
Hey Client, when creating the shareasale feed, do you get an error?

    Client
    Yes.
    It says Merchant ID required.

    Support
    right
do you see a link “more”?

    Client
    Yes.

    Support
    ok click that please,
paste the URL here and I can try to help

    Client
    Ok.
    http://docs.shoppingcartproductfeed.com/####.!@#$

    Support
It shows how to fix it

    Client
    Fix:

    Enter an Advanced Command:

    $merchant-id = ….
    Support
    yes

    Client
I do that into the shopping cart plugin screen? Or I enter that in woocommerce?
    Support
    Plugin: click [open advanced command]
    (near the bottom)

    Client
    Opened.
    Support
    $merchant-id = (merchant ID)
where (merchant ID) is the id found from your account

    Client
    No space after =?

    Support
    space

    Client
    Oooh, does it matter?

    Support
    hmm, I believe so

    Client
Ok, I just created it. Is there anything I should do to verify it’s all good?
Oh, I didn’t include the affiliate rate in there.

    Support
sure can you send me the feed link please?
    affiliate link?

    Client
Created it as a csv. Don’t see it as a link.

    Support
    rate*?

    Client
    I’m sorry, commission.
    Yes, rate.

    Support
    oh
    I see,, comission
    is this a default value?

    Client
Within Shareasale, it’s 20%, but I don’t know if that’s included in the feed.

    Support
let me check if there’s a default value
    already
There is a Comission field in the feed, but this is what ShareAsale says:

Dollar amount of product commission (do not enter in a commission percentage). This will not affect the tracking or the actual commission rewarded on the sale, and is only for a quick reference for the affiliate.

    Client
Ok, I’ll leave it as it is.

    Support
    ok
    Did you set a subcategory?

    Client
Ok, I guess everything is good.
Ummm… I just put it to Personal Care.

    Support
okay, that is the main category

    Client
Didn’t see an option for subcategory.

    Support
Right, it hasnt’ been implemented yet, but here are the subcategories for that main category:

    102: Cosmetics
    103: Exercise / Wellness
    104: Safety
    183: Medical
Which do you think works best?

    Client
    103

    Support
    ok
so enter a new line in the advanced commands
    setAttributeDefault subcategory as 103

    Client
Just copy and paste that whole line?
    No = for “as”?

    Support
    yes exactly like that
Click Update at the bottom now

    Client
Ok, cool. Do you think I should email you the feed, or think it’s good?

    Support
Actually once you click Get Feed, when it tells you to download, click cancel
you shuld see the link in the address bar
    you can paste that here
I can take a quick peek

    Client
    It just disappears.
    Then downloads.

    Support
ah, likely a browser pop-up blocker. no problem. the feed link can also be obtained from Manage Feeds page

    Client
    http://www.@@@#$%^%$%%%%.php

    Support
ok I see a slight issue here.. .one moment
the formatting is sort of off, because of the descriptions containing line breaks.

    Client
    Ok.
    Should I do anything?

    Support
something is strange in this feed… hmm
    Trying to think
If you open it in excel, you’ll see

    Client
    Only have Open Office.

    Support
Ok I found out it’s from the short descriptions
    Providing a fix

    Client
    Great.
    Everything good?

    Support
    Yep!
    Looks good now

    Client
I can use the same url?

    Support
    yes

    Client
Then just save it from there?
    Awesome! Thanks so much.

    Support
yes it should be good, let me know what they come back with should errors occur.
    No problem Client

    Client
    Have a good one.

    Support
